I tried several different high-end shoes from Asolo, Danner and Lowa but none were as comfortable or fit as well as these. They're expensive and don't seem to be constructed as well as some of the others, with only a top metal eyelet and no leather, but I'm hoping they break in well and last long enough for me to replace the soles - which Zamberlan says is possible on these. I've got less than 100 miles on them and they already have several frayed strings that need to be cut and some odd creases in the shoes but no structural problems - so I'm hoping that's part of the breaking in process.There is no real tongue on the shoe; it's constructed more like a padded bootie so you need to loosen up several laces down in order to get your foot in. But overall I like the climbing laces. The Vibram soles are rugged and have held up well on hikes. The black color looks classy/understated enough where you could probably get away with these at a more casual wedding! For this price, I hope they last.
