This sauce is is the truth.com. Great job on continuing the family legacy with your twist to the sauce. I grew up in on this BBQ as a kid. This is the best 5-star bbq sauce I’ve ever tasted, the thickness and warmth will keep you turning up the flavor...great brand!!!This sauce goes great on literally anything! Amazing taste and so diverse, we always keep our pantry stocked with Mr. G'sReview of: Mr. G Sauce Rhythm Sweet & Sassy Hot Sauce, 12 ozI was fortunate … I had just come home from picking up some take out-fast food when I received the Mr. G. Rhythm Sweet & Sassy Sauce . So, forget about the ketchup, I went straight for the Mr. G.And, I think, having the Mr. G sauce around (even when used on some food straight from the drive-through lane) made the take-home so much better. I used the sauce on a chicken sandwich, some chicken nuggets and even some fries. Each one, for me, was enhanced by the Mr. G. Sauce.I had originally chosen the Sweet & Sassy version of Mr. G Sauce, hoping it would be a little less hot than some of the other’s and I think it turned out to be. I found that the sauce definitely has some heat to it, but it’s not the type of heat I would consider to be pure-heat. That dark heat along with the distinctive taste of the tomato/vinegar mix, for me, meant that the ‘sassy’ part of the sauce was closer to a peppery heat than a chile heat. The sweet part of the equation is mildly sweet I would say; not a overwhelming sweet as if too much brown sugar was used in an attempt to ‘hide’ the heat. The rest of the flavor profile is very distinctive; the Worcestershire along with, I don’t know, maybe the tomatoes and the mustard (and others) make for a very tasty, flavorful and unusual all-purpose sauce. For me, and for other members of my family, this is really good. For my family, the Mr. G Sauce (Rhythm Sweet and Sassy Hot Sauce) is a step above ketchup and is a step above any mass produced ‘Bar-B-Q’ sauce we’ve tried in the past.If this review was helpful, please click the Helpful button. While I am not usually a fan of secret sauces or ingredients, I must admit that I really like the taste/flavors in this sauce. There is a tangy aspect, some heat and sweetness in this bbq sauce. I added some cayenne pepper to kick up the heat factor. Then I used it as a glaze atop root vegetables that we roasted for dinner. I think it was the better than the main dish. A few hours after dinner, I actually went to the fridge and took out the leftovers and ate some cold. Still good. There's more sugar than I like in my food, but you have to expect a reasonable sugar content in any bbq sauce. So, that aspect won't affect the rating.I am a bit confused by the variations they offer. For the most part, it seems like they have the same description and ingredients. So, I can only guess that it's based upon varying degrees of heat, sweetness, spices and citrus. I only tested the Spicy Jazz, and it's a winner in my book. I would get more of this version, but I would also seriously consider their hotter sauces. The back story is interesting, but the proof is in the quality and taste. It passes with flying collors on these points.I can see adding this to soups, stews for an additional flavor boost. Or to a dirty rice or jambalaya, mmm.I feel this product more than satisfied my expectations. So, based on the taste of the sauce, this product earns a solid 4.5 star rating, with a high level recommendation. This review is for the Mild Blues Hot Sauce. This is a great, and flavorful, sauce. It calls itself an “all purpose” sauce, which I think is appropriate. It can be used as a marinade, as a bbq sauce, as a dipping sauce, or it makes for an interesting ‘moisture’ ingredient on a ‘kick it up a notch’ pasta/quinoa salad. It is slightly thicker than a typical marinade, quite a bit thinner than a typical bbq sauce. The ‘secret spices’ are well-balanced, with a bit of heat yet with sweet overtones - sort of a sweet heat thing going on. I am not sure that calling it a ‘hot sauce’ is completely accurate, but I think it would go well on anything. It is definitely a hit on chicken, veggies, and pasta salad. Makes me want to try the other flavors... especially those with some extra hear! Great sauce! This is an interesting marinade/sauce. We decided to try it because we have kids who like spicy and some who like it a bit more mild. This one seemed like it had a nice compromise. When we first opened it, the fragrance was very much like vinegar, so we were nervous. However, we tasted a little bit before using it, and it was very pleasant.Marinated some chicken in this sauce and it turned out great. After cooking down, the vinegar mellowed out. The spiciness to this also mellowed out. It was a perfect compromise for everyone. We even added extra to the already cooked chicken because for some, the heat became too mellow. We are going to try using this as a base and mixing in different flavors of our own to see what we can come up with.I have become such a fan of BigG’s rubs and sauces. This sauce is a delicious marinade and great for grilling pork. I use their rubs first and then generously add bbq sauce about 20mins before the meats done and it’s finger licking good! Won’t be buying the other stuff from the grocery store anymore.
